Decision for Christ
What is Salvation?
Salvation is defined as a saving or being saved; preservation or rescue from destruction; to be made whole, set free or healed. Salvation or spiritual rebirth happens when we personally believe in Jesus Christ, receive Him by inviting Him into our lives, and turn from our sins. We ask Jesus to come and take residence in our hearts and lives. And we allow Him to make the changes he deems necessary.
There are Four Principles of Salvation:
- God loves you and offers an amazing plan for your life.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so the everyone who belies in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 - Human nature is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, we cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 - Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin. Through Him we can know God.
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 - We must individually accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.
“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
